These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and The Renaissance International Campus, LLC, a U.S. limited liability company headquartered in Miami, Florida ("TRC," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the website at trc.international and any related online English programs and services (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.
01Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, taking the placement test, submitting an enrollment, or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, each of which is incorporated by reference.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of another person (for example, your child), you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to bind that person to these Terms.
These Terms constitute a legally binding contract. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
02Eligibility and parental consent
You must be at least sixteen (16) years old to create an account or enroll in a program. If you are under eighteen (18), you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf, has authorized your enrollment, and has confirmed responsibility for any tuition payable.
Applicants under sixteen (16) are considered on a case-by-case basis and require explicit written parental consent through an additional consent form provided at enrollment.
You may not use the Services if you are located in, ordinarily resident in, or a national of any country subject to comprehensive U.S. economic sanctions administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), or if you are on any U.S. denied-party list. We may suspend or refuse Services based on screening against these lists.
03Account registration and security
Enrolled students receive a TRC account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information at registration and to keep that information updated. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access, loss of your device, or any breach of security. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your account that you have not reported.
04Description of the Services
The Services include access to TRC's English-language programs — the U.S. High School Diploma, International English Exam Preparation (Cambridge, IELTS & TOEFL), Conversational English for Any Age, and Technical English for Professionals — together with a placement test, a student portal, a curated resource library, and recorded sessions where applicable. Specific programs, schedules, instructor assignments, and features may change from time to time.
We strive to keep the Services available continuously but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
05Enrollment process
The standard enrollment path is: (1) take the free placement test, (2) receive a personalized program recommendation, (3) speak with an admissions advisor, (4) sign an enrollment letter and pay tuition (in full or via an accepted plan), (5) receive portal access within 24 business hours of payment confirmation.
An enrollment becomes binding only when both TRC and you (or your parent/guardian if you are a minor) have signed the enrollment letter and TRC has confirmed receipt of the first tuition payment.
06Tuition, fees, and currency
Tuition for each program is listed on our pricing page and is set in U.S. dollars (USD). Quoted prices are exclusive of any taxes, levies, or duties applicable in your country, which are your responsibility unless otherwise stated.
We accept payments by major credit card and by bank transfer in USD. Where supported by our payment processor, we may also accept EUR, GBP, or MXN at the exchange rate quoted at the time of payment. The processor may charge a foreign-exchange or international-card fee.
07Payment terms
- Tuition is due on or before the start date of your program, except where a payment plan has been agreed in writing.
- If you elect a payment plan (three installments, monthly, etc.), each installment is due on the scheduled date set out in your enrollment letter.
- Late payments accrue a service charge equal to the lower of 1.5% per month or the maximum rate permitted by applicable Florida law, plus reasonable costs of collection.
- You authorize TRC and its payment processor to charge your designated payment method for any installment when it becomes due, until you withdraw that authorization in writing.
- If a chargeback is initiated without first contacting TRC, we may suspend access to the Services pending resolution and may pursue recovery of the chargeback fee.
08Refunds and cancellations
Full-tuition refund window: you may withdraw and receive a full refund of unused tuition within seven (7) calendar days of your program start date, no questions asked. Notify [email protected] before that window closes.
After the seven-day window, refunds are pro-rated against the time elapsed in your program, less (i) an administrative fee of US$95 and (ii) the value of any official mock exam, official exam registration, or single-use materials already provisioned to you.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within thirty (30) business days of cancellation confirmation. Official exam fees paid to third parties (Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo English Test, ETS) are governed by the testing body's own refund policy and are not refundable through TRC.
If TRC cancels a cohort or program for reasons within its reasonable control, you will receive a full refund of unused tuition without deduction.
09Intellectual property and license to use materials
All course materials, software, audio and video recordings, trademarks, logos, designs, illustrations, and other content forming part of the Services (the "Content") are the property of TRC or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the Content solely for your own non-commercial learning during the term of your enrollment plus the post-enrollment library access period described in our pricing.
You may not (a) copy, reproduce, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the Content; (b) share Content with any person who is not enrolled; (c) post Content publicly on the internet; (d) use Content to train a machine-learning model; or (e) remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice. Trade marks of TRC, including "The Renaissance International Campus" and "TRC International," may not be used without our prior written consent.
10Student work and feedback
You retain ownership of essays, recordings, projects, and other work you submit as part of a TRC program ("Student Work"). By submitting Student Work, you grant TRC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, store, display, and adapt the Student Work solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you (including grading, feedback, and progress tracking) and for our internal quality-assurance and instructor-training purposes.
If you provide testimonials, suggestions, or feedback about the Services, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, fully transferable license to use that feedback for any purpose, with attribution unless you request anonymity.
11Recordings of cohort sessions
Some cohort sessions are recorded for educational continuity (so students who miss a session can catch up) and quality assurance. When a session is being recorded, the mentor will announce it at the start and the on-screen interface will display a clear recording indicator.
By participating in a recorded session you consent to the recording. Recordings are stored on our infrastructure for the duration of the cohort plus ninety (90) days, then deleted. Recordings are not shared outside the cohort and are not used for marketing without your explicit, separate written consent.
If you do not wish to appear on a recording, you may turn off your camera, change your display name to a pseudonym, and use the chat feature to participate. Speak with your mentor in advance if you have additional accommodations.
12Use of artificial intelligence
AI tools (large language models, automatic transcription, grammar checkers) can be valuable study aids and can also undermine learning if misused. The TRC policy on AI in 2026 is:
- You may use AI tools as a study aid — for brainstorming, vocabulary practice, or self-review of drafts — unless the specific assignment instructions say otherwise.
- You may not submit AI-generated text as your own work on any graded essay, speaking assessment, or examination. Doing so is a violation of academic integrity (see Section 14).
- If an assignment permits AI assistance, you must disclose which AI tools you used and how, in a one-paragraph statement at the end of the submission.
- Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL, and other official examinations apply their own AI policies; you are responsible for complying with the rules of the body administering your exam.
- TRC may use AI to detect AI-generated text, plagiarism, and translation. Detection results are advisory; final integrity decisions are made by human instructors.
13User conduct and academic integrity
You agree to participate in the Services with honesty and respect for your cohort. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Submit work that is not your own — plagiarism, contract cheating, AI-generated submissions in violation of Section 13, or substantive copying from another student.
- Cheat on any TRC mock exam or quiz, including using unauthorised resources or sharing answers.
- Use the Services to harass, threaten, bully, defame, dox, sexually solicit, or otherwise harm any person.
- Discriminate against any student or staff member on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or circumvent the technical or security measures of the Services.
- Upload viruses, malware, ransomware, or other harmful code.
- Share your account credentials with another person, sell or transfer your account, or use an account other than your own.
- Record, screenshot, or capture cohort sessions outside the official recording infrastructure without explicit mentor consent.
- Use the Services to violate any applicable U.S. federal or state law or any law of the jurisdiction where you are located.
14Anti-harassment policy
TRC has zero tolerance for harassment in any form. If you experience or witness harassment, contact [email protected] or speak with your mentor. We will investigate every credible report. Where appropriate, we will issue warnings, suspend or terminate access, refund unused tuition pro-rata, and report conduct to law enforcement.
Retaliation against any person for filing or supporting a good-faith complaint is itself a violation of these Terms and will be addressed in the same manner.
15Mandatory reporting
Because we serve minors, our staff are alert for indications of harm to a student. Under Florida Statute §39.201 and applicable laws, our staff are required to report suspected abuse, neglect, or abandonment of a child to the appropriate authorities. This is a legal obligation that overrides any expectation of confidentiality.
16Third-party services and links
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services (for example, Cambridge English, IELTS, TOEFL, Vercel, payment processors). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. TRC is not responsible for the practices or content of any third party.
17Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Services infringes a copyright you own or control, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512) to [email protected] with the subject line "DMCA Notice" and including:
(i) a physical or electronic signature of the owner or an authorized agent; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (iii) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and its location; (iv) your contact information; (v) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; (vi) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
We may forward your notice to the alleged infringer. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address; we will treat them in accordance with the DMCA.
18Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." While we work hard to deliver high-quality instruction and strong pass-rate outcomes, TRC does not guarantee any specific exam score, university acceptance, scholarship, visa approval, or career outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components, nor that any defects will be corrected within a particular timeframe.
19Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will TRC or its officers, directors, employees, agents, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Services, even if TRC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount of tuition you have paid to TRC in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.
20Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TRC and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from any and all third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your misuse of the Services; (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party; or (d) any content you submit through the Services that infringes a third party's rights.
We may, at our option, assume exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you have agreed to indemnify us. You agree to cooperate with our defense.
21Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Services, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, fail to pay tuition when due, engage in conduct that we reasonably consider harmful to other students, our staff, or the integrity of a program, or if we are required to do so by law.
22Termination by you and effect of termination
You may terminate your enrollment at any time by emailing [email protected]. The refund framework in Section 9 applies.
Upon termination, your right to access the Services ends, but provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including Sections 10-13 on intellectual property, Section 18 on disclaimers, Section 19 on liability, Section 20 on indemnification, and Sections 26-31 on dispute resolution and miscellaneous matters) will survive.
23Force majeure
Neither party will be liable for any failure or delay in performance to the extent caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, governmental order, embargo, labor disruption, internet failure, or denial-of-service attack. The affected party will give prompt notice and use reasonable efforts to resume performance as soon as possible. A program disrupted by force majeure will be paused or rescheduled rather than terminated where reasonably practicable.
24Export controls and sanctions
The Services may be subject to U.S. export laws and regulations. You represent and warrant that you are not located in, ordinarily resident in, or a national of any country subject to a comprehensive U.S. embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. denied-party or blocked-person list. You agree not to use, export, or re-export the Services in violation of U.S. export laws.
25Electronic signatures
You consent to entering into agreements with TRC electronically under the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (15 U.S.C. §7001 et seq.) and applicable state law. Any electronic signature you provide will have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
You may withdraw this consent and obtain a paper copy of any record by emailing [email protected]; withdrawal does not affect the legal validity of records signed prior to the withdrawal.
26Notices
We may give notice to you by email (to the address on file), by posting a notice on the Services, or by postal mail. You agree to keep your contact information current.
Notices to TRC should be sent to [email protected] or by postal mail to the address in Section 32. Notices are deemed given on the day delivered (for email and postings) or three (3) business days after posting (for postal mail).
27Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students by email and posted on the website at least fifteen (15) days before they take effect (the "effective date" of the change).
Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you may terminate your enrollment in accordance with Section 22 before the effective date and request a pro-rated refund.
28Governing law
These Terms, and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or related to them or to the Services, are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
29Binding arbitration
Please read this section carefully — it affects how disputes between you and TRC are resolved and waives your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services ("Dispute") that the parties cannot resolve informally as described in Section 28 shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, conducted in Miami, Florida (or remotely at the option of either party).
The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. The arbitrator may award only individual relief and may not award class, collective, or representative relief.
30Informal dispute resolution
Before initiating arbitration, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] with a written description of the Dispute and your requested resolution. We will attempt in good faith to resolve the Dispute within thirty (30) days. If we are unable to do so, either party may proceed to arbitration.
31Class action waiver and jury trial waiver
YOU AND TRC AGREE THAT EACH PARTY MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
YOU AND TRC EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
32Right to opt out of arbitration
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement in Section 27 by sending a written notice to [email protected] within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your full name, the email address used to register, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms.
33Small claims and equitable relief
Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court for any Dispute that qualifies, in lieu of arbitration. Either party may also seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual-property rights, confidentiality, or the integrity of the Services, without proceeding to arbitration first.
34Venue
Any court proceeding permitted by these Terms (small claims, equitable relief, enforcement of an arbitration award) shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Each party consents to personal jurisdiction in those courts and waives any objection to venue.
35Miscellaneous
Severability: if any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
Waiver: a failure or delay in enforcing any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
Assignment: you may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Entire agreement: these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and your signed enrollment letter, constitute the entire agreement between you and TRC regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements.
Headings: section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
No third-party beneficiaries: these Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
